2 men. 180 continuous games of table tennis. Both wearing ski boots. One aim.
On Monday 16th July, the day after Wimbledon Finals Weekend, we’re hoping to capture the tennis spirit and raise £500 for an amazing charity, Snow-Camp. £500 is enough to enable 5 young people to experience snowsports for the first time or employ 1 apprentice for 1 month.
James and Joe from the Ski Club of Great Britain are putting on our own #Switch180 Snow-Camp fundraising event. The challenge is to play 180 continuous games of table tennis, in ski boots - toilet breaks are allowed. The ping-pong-athon is estimated to take around 10-11 hours!
Every year, a new Snow-Camp apprentice joins the Ski Club family, and we are hoping that the money raised will be enough to engage with new programme participants who we hope will one day work with the Ski Club.
Past apprentices Rashane and Hamza will be joining us on the day of the ping-pong-athon to provide support, snacks and maybe the occasional cameo appearance on the table.
Watch for yourself on our Instagram page, where we will be providing updates throughout the day on our story: https://www.instagram.com/skiclubgb/
Any donation, large or small is much appreciated - you may even get a mention during the event on the live stream!
Everyone at the Ski Club has first-hand experience of the incredible work Snow-Camp provides, find out more about this incredible organisation here: www.snow-camp.org.uk
